Baby Animal Tips
If you run across baby birds or rabbits, your best bet is to leave them alone. While these little animals may appear abandoned and vulnerable, especially in spring and early summer when they are born, it is often because the mother has left them momentarily in an attempt to draw predators towards her and away from her young. Rabbits in particular have babies in a small indentation in the middle of a yard as this is the safest place to keep them away from nocturnal predatory animals. If the mother returns and her babies are not there, she will leave and not return.
